What is a gas leak?
- Pre early 1970 Town Gas fed the metallic gas network
- This was ‘wet gas’ and kept gas joints ‘moist.’
- When the UK moved to Natural Gas, this was dry and subsequently dried out the joints.
- ALH was approached to manufacture a repair solution that can be inserted into the joint and thus ‘remediate’ and seal the leaking joint.
This is Flexspray, a two-part anaerobic system formulated to seal leaking mechanical and lead yarn joints on cast and spun iron, steel, and ductile gas mains.
Unlike other anaerobic solutions, Flexspray contains a flexibility additive that enables the joint to move while still being sealed, enhancing the longevity of the repair.
It is formulated to fully seal joints using capillary ‘wicking’ motion, ensuring a complete seal.
ALH manufacture the Flexspray sealant consumable and the equipment needed to seal leaking gas joints.
